About the program

Upon completing the core, students can take courses in policy, race/gender/class, education, urban studies, non-profits, health, and social entrepreneurship.

The Community Leadership program at University of Maryland, Baltimore County draws upon courses in the Graduate Certificate in the Non-Profit Sector currently offered through the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Health Administration and Policy and the Social Entrepreneurship pathway of the M.P.S. in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership.

  • Legal and Ethical Issues in Community Leadership
  • Capstone Project: Theory, Action, and Results
  • Social Inequality and Social Policy

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale, or equivalent. Applicants with grades on a scale other than 4.0, will be evaluated based on standards for the country of their degree.
  • GRE scores are not required for admission
  • English proficiency scores
